Linux disappointment

Comments

I have a similar opnion regarding linux. My only real experience has been with Ubuntu so it is pretty limited but that is supposed to be the most straight forward of the the distros. I can't stand the app management for this OS. I just spent 30 minutes trying to figure out how to upgrade Firefox from 1.5 to 2.0 and still was not successful. Other than the app management, I like the general look and feel of the OS and the bundled applications are cool. It has become VERY apparent to my why linux isn't a mainstream OS.
UPDATE: I just got FF upgraded to version 2.0. I had to do some searching and found some dudes complex shell script that does the update for you. I found this ridiculous. the update for Windows and Mac both were very painless.
Um, feeling dense here but what's FF?
Firefox, sorry.
